Inspired by the culture and wildlife of Bali, Indonesia, Susan Barkann created her own company, SUE B. DESIGNS, in 1995. Working with either sterling silver for her jewelry collection or carved wood for her toys, Susan's designs are a fresh and contemporary interpretation of prevalent themes in nature. Susan's unique images capture nature with both wit and whimsy, having a special appeal to the young at heart.

Susan is a graduate of Washington University's School of Fine Arts and holds a degree in Metalsmithing and an Associate's Degree in Jewelry Design from New York's Fashion Institute of Technology.

Susan has been a staff designer for Monet Jewelers and has worked in-house for Avon, Givenchy, Trifari, Richelue Pearl and Bijoux Designs. While a student in New York City, Susan captured first and third place prizes in a watch design competition for Swatch Watch Co. Clients range from Walt Disney Attractions and The Discovery Channel Stores to Fine Art Galleries, Zoos and Museums.

Susan makes her home in San Francisco, and travels to Bali, Indonesia to create and produce all of her designs.
